Personal Grants from Crohn's and Colitis UK

About the Personal Grants Fund
If you are affected by Inflammatory Bowel Disease and have been resident in the UK for at least six months, you may apply for an individual grant from the Crohn's and Colitis UK Personal Grants Fund. You will need to show you are on a low income and have a need arising from your IBD.

Grants do not exceed £300 and a person may only receive one grant in a year, and usually no more than three grants in any six year period. Applications can be for any item or need which arises as a consequence of having Ulcerative Colitis or Crohn's Disease.

Some examples of grants:
  • washing machine or dryer
  • refrigerator
  • installation of a telephone
  • new clothing
  • beds and bedding
  • special education or retraining costs - see also Crohn's and Colitis UK's Educational and Vocational Support for Young Persons
  • a convalescent holiday but not more than one in three years

Recurring household bills or debts cannot be considered, and for these you should seek help from your local Social Services, Citizens' Advice Bureau, Citizens’ Advice Scotland, The Consumer Credit Counselling Service or The National Debtline.
